Creating a culture is a key strategy for changing the way things work. Jesus brought a paradigm shift - a new culture to the nation of Israel. We have developed our own cultural norms - typically we don't even realize it!

Brandon Guidon's book, Disciple Making Culture, is a challenge to shift from our current norm to a new pattern which reinforces and commits to a Disciple Making approach to living our faith. For most of us, our cultural norm includes a pattern which results in us leading "isolated lives" - we have few close friends and limited focus on faith development and sharing the Good News of Jesus our Saviour.

Guidon suggests there are four keys to creating a Disciple Making Culture: Biblical Foundation, Intentional Leadership, Relational Environment and Reproducible Process. You're encouraged to get this book and read it prior to the retreat if you're able - it's available from Amazon.ca.

Our sessions will be led by the elders and evangelists at Waterloo.
Come with an open mind and humbled spirit, and leave with a commitment to make disciples for the Lord, who, in turn, make disciples.
