Tintern In Person & Online - Join us this Sunday for an in-person service at 9:45 am. We will also be broadcasting a livestream on our website starting at 9:45 am. Masks are optional. If you have been exposed or are showing symptoms of COVID, please remain at home.

To watch live on our website click here https://www.tinternchurchofchrist.ca/watch. It will go live about 9:40 Sunday morning. You can always find us on Tintern's YouTube channel as well (https://www.youtube.com/user/tinterncofc).

Handicap Parking - Reminder to please leave the three to four parking spots close to the new middle entrance doors for those with mobility issues. We will identify those spots with parking cones for now.

Making Space in September - This week over dinner with your family or over coffee with a friend, can you start a conversation about what it could look like to be intentional about leaving space for our neighbours?

A few ideas to get you started
-Can we give up TV for the month?
-Can we have our morning coffee on the front porch?
-Can we give up 1 of our 21 meals each week to have a meal with a neighbour?
-Can we delete our social media apps for the month?
-Can we sign up for the community care food drive?

We would love to hear the creative ways you come up with to make space and activities you plan for time in our community.

Teacher/ Helpers Needed in Children's Education Ministry - It’s teacher and helper drive time! We’re looking for teachers and helpers for our Children’s Education Ministry for the fall, winter and spring quarters. The big obnoxious sign up board has now been moved to the auditorium. If you have any questions, speak to Crystal Cann. Thank you in advance!

Fellowship Ministry
  1. We need to get a jump start on this ministry.  We have two events upcoming with Church in the Park and the Celebration of Thanksgiving. From several standpoints we are starting fresh from both a personnel standpoint and a facility standpoint with the new building. Let's meet Sunday morning for 15 minutes at the front of the building after the sermon to figure out a good time and place to meet and get started.
  2. We are looking for a Fellowship Coordinator, someone who can create a team that will organize Tintern's three or four potlucks each year. If you are interested please speak to either Russ Walker or Margaret Ayala.
A/V Ministry - We are looking for someone (or a small group of people) to coordinate Audio / Visual Ministry here at Tintern. The role would be involved in scheduling volunteers to help at the back of the auditorium during worship as well as facilitate the livestream broadcast on Sunday mornings and the posting of a sermon recording. Training is available. Contact Noel if you are interested in helping out. Thanks.

Monthly Kids Challenge - Congratulations to Elet for winning the draw in July!
This is going to be our last Kid's challenge for right now. It's been fun! In our Grades 2-3 and 4-5 classes they're learning about wisdom all month. Your challenge is to share with us some wisdom. It can be some wisdom you have or ask someone for their best piece of wisdom. To be entered in the draw comment on the Facebook post on the Tintern Kid's Facebook page, tell your Sunday school teacher or tell Miss. Crystal some wisdom. The draw will take place on August 28th.

Sunday School Picnic - This year our Sunday School picnic will be Sunday August 28th at 3:30pm. We will be gathering on the church lawn for fun and games for all ages. Pack some food for a picnic afterwards, We will provide drinks and dessert. RSVP is not required but if you are coming and bringing children with you please sign them up on the table in the entranceway or let Crystal or Lindsay know so we can group the kids accordingly.

Wedding Shower - Julie Walker and Kerri Kennedy invite you to a wedding shower for Emily Whitfield on Sunday September 25th from 12:00 to 2:00 pm at the building for the ladies. Julie and Kerri are collecting money for a group gift. Here is the link for Emily's registration at The Knot  https://www.theknot.com/us/emily-whitfield-and-benjamin-shore-oct-2022/registry

Church in the Park - Sunday September 4, 2022 you are invited to join us at Charles Daley Park at 10:00 am. We will be providing coffee and a light snack at 9:30 am. Remember to bring a lawn chair and wear sunscreen. An invitation is included that you are free to share with family and friends. A printed copy will be in your mailbox at Tintern. If you would like to stay and have a picnic lunch you are welcome to do that (be sure to bring enough for anyone you invited). In the event of inclement weather we will meet at the building (an email will go out to confirm a change of location - no email, no change).

Micah 6 - Attached is the report on Summer Slam (Year 8!) from Micah 6 Community.

Laptops for Sale - As Great Lakes Christian High School has come to the end of the first “One to One” computer cycle, we have purchased new laptops for the Fall of 2022. Our previous laptops were purchased 4 years ago and are now available for purchase. We will sell each used laptop for $150.00 “as is”, without a warranty. They will come with a clean install of Windows 10, and can be upgraded to Windows 11. Spec wise they have an 8-core 8th gen i5 processor, 8GB of RAM, and 128GB of storage. They are 12.5 inches in size, support a touchscreen and pen for digital ink. These devices are "gently" used and therefore all have minor scratches, chips, or other cosmetic blemishes.

The laptops will be sold on a first come, first serve basis.  Please contact John de Gelder at john.degelder@glchs.ca if you would like to purchase a laptop or have more questions.  Please use the subject line “Used Fujitsu Laptop Purchase” when communicating with John regarding this.
